Pumpkins Galore

Today is Halloween, but about a week ago we went out to embrace the season! A day of pumpkining was in order.
Out we went to a local farm to hand pick our pumkins
Happily, we found the perfect two.
A couple nights later we had a pumpkin night. We cooked dinner in pumpkin, carved jack-o-lanterns, toasted pumpkin seeds and ate pumpkin pie. As the long nights start to settle in, there are few things more comforting than an evening at home with all things pumpkin.
Today, our jack-o-lanterns are sitting outside on a bench, looking very pleased as the trees blow off their leaves.

Spud!

My husband and I decided to give Spud.ca a try. Spud is grocery provider that offers organic produce and strongly supports local suppliers. They drop off weekly orders, right on your door step. The best part: you can sign up for a Harvest Box and get an assortment of fresh, organic produce to last a week. It was like Christmas! I didn't know what beautiful healthy treasures I would find.
Here is everything unpacked from the box. For the week we have a lovely bunch of carrots with the greens on, 2 grapefruit, bananas, 4 apples, 1 red pepper, a bunch of celery, kale, cabbage, bok choy, 3 pears, and 2 zucchini. I spent all last night going through recipes to discover how we are going to cook everything by next week.
